    • Date and Time : Monday 2nd June 2025
      18:00~20:00

Also this year, we will hold a celebration party to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty King Charles.
The venue was always the Kobe Club, but this year it will be held at a new venue due to reconstruction.
The Garden Oriental Osaka is the former Osaka City Public Building, and during the official residence days, it welcomed foreign VIPS and held events in Osaka City. It is a wonderful building with an amazing Japan garden.
We hope that King Charles’s birthday celebration will serve as an opportunity to deepen grassroots exchanges between Japan and the United Kingdom.

Thence we moved to the Lake Biwa Marriot Hotel on the lakeside for a plentiful lunch of fresh seasonal food, and then to the Sagawa Museum of Art, famous for its architecture and “floating gardens”, to see works by the Nihonga master Hirayama Ikuo and others. 【JBSK-Day: Charity bazaar and Casual Party】

    • Date: 20th October (Sunday)
    • Place: “Umeda Hall”, 9th Floor, Hankyu Umeda Department Store

Our annual charity bazaar was visited by even more people than last year. Volunteers and Hankyu Department Store staff manned the stalls, selling goods generously donated by Corporate members and by supporting enterprises. The proceeds go to charities; this year to the Cheshire Homes “Hanshin Jiritsu no Ie”, to the animal protection facility “ARK”, and to victims of the earthquake on the Noto Peninsula. We are deeply grateful for all the support received. At the casual party in the evening we had the unusual opportunity to hear Scottish bagpipes and to socialize, inter al, with people who had come from the UK to man the stalls at the Hankyu Department store British Fair.

    • Place:ARK(Animal Refuge Kansai) at Tambasasayama

SAG’s “Sakura project” started with the creation of herb beds in 2019 at ARK in Sasayama and has been followed by tree-planting activities there. On this occasion we made our 4th tree-planting visit after a gap of 2 years. Newcomers joined in, but as we began working, it started to pour, turning soon to snow – unusual for Sasayama – and we were forced to retire. It was sad to leave the job half-done, but the ARK staff subsequently completed the work and we anticipate splendiferous cherry blossoms next spring. Some newcomer members witnessed British-style animal welfare facilities and learned about the British attitude to such welfare, after which we all shared sandwiches and handmade scones. It was a bitterly cold but refreshing day’s outing.
